Yes, I fell off the face of the earth

The wife, poodle, and I went to Las Cruces over the weekend. We were going to come back Sunday night but ended up, once again, taking my aunt to the ER. She's OK, relatively speaking. So we stayed Sunday night. Took her to the doctor Monday, doctor wants to put her in an assisted living facility for a month to get a handle on her meds. So my dad decides to come down Tuesday, so we spend Monday night.

It's a good thing that I had an extra day built-in to my travel schedule.

Anyway, I'm off to bed, and in the morning, I'm off for Phoenix Con Games! Most everything is printed, though I'll probably work towards killing another ink cartridge or two tomorrow for adverts.

Lots to post, non-lots of time to do it in. *sigh*

Good luck with your panels, demos and sales at the con.

Computer geek that you are, I'm surprised that you haven't set up a way to dictate directly to a file on your laptop while you are doing the copious amount of driving that you seem to do regularly. That way, all you'd need to do is to upload that file to your LJ when you get to a place with internet connectivity.

Or am I just opening another can of worms?

Can of worms. The voice recorder downloads into a WAV format, which I can easily convert to MP3. But voice recognition technology, i.e. dictate from microphone into typed text, is a very specialized technology that works great for some specific applications but doesn't do too good on totally variable input, even when it's done by the same person.

See you Thursday!
