Opinions? Did you see the original Michael York movie or read the books?

I'm considering buying a season pass to it. I'll probably buy the first episode and maybe go from there. I'm definitely looking forward to the new Flash Gordon series!

I spent a lot of time last night in Wikipedia reading a variety of stuff and came across this. He wrote this letter explaining why he left the band and hand-carried it to the press.

Aside from "CHECK THE FLUID LEVELS, YOU MORON!", I remembered something this morning. Yesterday I was venting (in humourous fashion, natch) to this guy and I commented that it sucks that you frequently don't get any warning when your battery is about to go Tango Uniform. If you're skilled and don't mind altering the lines of the interior of your car, you can always install an ammeter and keep an eye on how much currant the battery is drawing, but I noticed something else. I always use the remote entry key fob to unlock my doors, and I remembered the last couple of days that I had to hit it two or three times to get the doors to open. I assumed that I probably needed to replace the battery in the transmitter, but now it's 100% when I go to get in my car.

Something I'll have to try and remember in this tiny little thing that I call my brain.

His premise is that they (California) have security backwards and are arguing that the machines are secure until they're proven not to be, then a patch makes them all better until they are once-again compromised. The full story is that the Californian In Charge of Voting Machine Stuff, after having a hasty report published proving that the machines tested were riddled with bad security, decided that once the uncovered vulnerabilities are patched that the machines can once again be used.

Schneier's point is that security must be built from the ground up, not added on later. Some excellent examples from the NSA.

They are PAYING policemen and this group of activists to film them. Most of these cases have been thrown out of court, and in one case, an alleged molester KILLED HIMSELF when police raided his house after Dateline got them to perform the raid when he didn't show up for his rendezvous with the "14 year old girl".

The activists, posing as 14 y/o's in chat rooms, are frequently soliciting sex rather than waiting to be solicited.
