More on the salmonella outbreak
Oct. 13th, 2013 11:37 amThere are seven different strains in this outbreak, and the overlap in what drugs the strains are resistant to is definitely not good. Also, the median age of those hit is 20, so LOTS of teen and child cases. So far, most of the cases interviewed have been infected by buying raw chicken at the store and cooking it, not from restaurants. But the article specifically says a "statistically significant proportion", not all cases. So I guess I'm sticking with beef and pork products until a month after the shutdown ends, that's my own personal timeline.
