As if I don't have enough problems, I had to fast overnight and get blood work done at 8:30. I'm pretty sure I could have been there at 8:00 and gotten it done, but the doctor said 8:30. I might have a problem with blood sugar, but I'm fairly certain its not early diabetes as none of my symptoms line up and I'm not reacting consistently to whether or not I eat and what happens after I eat. They were pretty fast and I was out the door about 8:45.

I had a nasty cold early last week that's turned into a sinus infection. I got some good drugs Tuesday, but they set me back a pretty penny: $120 as there were no generics available. Still, better having health insurance than not, neh? I feel absolutely the world better for them, though I'm still having a little bit of trouble breathing. And I've got something else odd going on for which we shall be doing further diagnostics next week. Such fun!

After the blood draw I went to the paper store and got the cards ordered for invitations, they'll be in tomorrow and I'll take them to the printers Friday night. I'll address the envelopes over the weekend, assuming Russ gets me the addresses of her invites.

And for the first time in a very long time, I bought a bagel before work. Since I'd fasted, I hit Starbucks for a iced chai and a croissant, then went next door to Einstein Bros for a asiago bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese. Tres bueno! I haven't done this since I stopped working for the police department over four years ago. Then again, I pretty much haven’t been working for four years.

Last night I saw a sneak of Kingdom of Heaven, met up with Magic Rat there. VERY good film, definitely recommended! It's amazing all the things that a blacksmith needs to know! Fantastic display of siege warfare, definitely comparable to the siege shown in The Messenger (Joan of Arc movie from a few years back by Luc Besson, who is also a movie god). The funny thing is that as the credits were rolling, the projector jammed and melted the print! At least it was at the end of the movie and not during one of the big battles, that would have been pretty horrible. We did Denny's afterwards as 5 & Diner had already closed, so at least I got some good protein into me before I went to bed.

See this film! It has Legolas! Squee! (just had to insert that last bit for the fan girls out there )

I'm really looking forward to next week being over for a number of reasons: I'll have the blood work back and more information, I'll be seeing another doctor and getting some diagnostics done, and BOTH my classes will be done as of the 14th! My network cabling class was supposed to run to the 21st, but the teacher jiggered the schedule a bit.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to take an incomplete in my public speaking course, I haven't attended the last two weeks (four sessions) and I'm two speeches behind. That will be very inconvenient to make up over the summer.

Me too

I had a fasting blood draw this week too -- part of my doc's routine physical. I certainly hope there's nothing to be too concerned about! And likewise, I hope yours comes back blameless as well.

It's the little things like being able to go to Starbucks or Einsteins that make having a little extra money feel like such a luxury. I quit going to Starbucks awhile ago and, while I don't miss it per se, I miss feeling like I'm *able* to do it.

I hope the blood work comes up clean. I had some re-done a couple of weeks ago to compare to the testing from last January (2004). It is kind of a pain having to do that fasting, but it was worth it to have the testing done and fnid out that I'd brought my triglycerides back down into the "Healthy" range from where they'd been.

Sorry to hear about the sinus infection; those suck. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it passes quickly for you.
